Hello beautiful ones,
I hope this letter finds you soaking up some of the magic that summer offers.
What a beautiful month June has been.
We gathered to honour the Summer Solstice, dancing barefoot around the fire on the beach, wrapped in golden light, laughter and community. Moments like these remind me just how healing it is to come together—to slow down, breathe and remember what really matters.
As many of you know, I absolutely love celebrating the turning of the Wheel of the Year. These ancient seasonal festivals gently reconnect us with the rhythms of nature, reminding us that we too have our own seasons of growth, rest, abundance and release.
And here we are already… halfway through the year.
Can you believe it?
This midpoint always feels like a gentle invitation to pause and reflect.
What have you let go of?
What have you welcomed in?
What has this year been quietly teaching you?
July is my birthday month, and it always carries a bittersweet tenderness. Alongside the joy of another journey around the sun comes a deeper awareness of those I’ve loved and lost.
This year I packed up my little campervan with Luna and headed to Dartmoor. Before sunrise, I walked to my late stepdad’s favourite place in the world to scatter the last of his ashes. Sitting quietly in the stillness, watching a new day arrive, felt profoundly healing. Afterwards, I met dear friends for breakfast before wandering to Sharrah Pool for the most glorious swim beneath the summer sky.
As I get older, I’m realising that it really is the simple things that fill my heart the most—time with beloved friends, wild swims at sunrise and sunset, picnics, campfires, long conversations, music and being immersed in nature.
I’ve been moving more slowly recently, allowing myself to savour these abundant summer days instead of rushing through them. There is something about July that invites us to soften into life and simply receive all that is blooming around us.
The abundance of summer is everywhere. Hedgerows overflowing, bees humming lazily from flower to flower, warm evenings that seem to stretch on forever. Nature reminds us that there are seasons for striving, but there are also seasons for simply being alive.
July also marks the beginning of festival season, which always makes my heart sing. I’ll be sharing yoga, holistic massage, my handmade clothing and sacred oils, while dancing barefoot in open fields with my daughter. Festivals remind me how freeing life can feel when we step away from routine and spend our days outdoors in community, surrounded by music, laughter and the earth beneath our feet. I truly believe we were made to gather like this.
One place that embodies this sense of connection for me is Wonderment Festival over the Autumn Equinox in September. If you’ve been longing for a retreat or a nourishing weekend away, I honestly can’t recommend it enough.
Imagine long banquet tables filled with incredible food, woodland saunas, beautiful lakes, inspiring workshops, cabaret, music, dancing and some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. It feels less like a festival and more like coming home. If you feel called, I’ve popped the link below.
Summer Yoga
I’m so excited to be offering a beautiful mix of indoor and outdoor classes throughout the summer.
Monday evenings – 7.30pm
At The Imperial Hotel. On warm evenings we move outside to a secluded spot overlooking the whole bay. As the evening light softens across the sea, it becomes one of the most magical places to practise.
Wednesday mornings – 7.00am
Meet beside the beach huts at Meadfoot Beach for an uplifting morning practice with the sound of the waves as our soundtrack.
Wednesday evenings – 7.30pm
My online restorative class, Rest, Pause & Be, has become a nourishing midweek sanctuary where we slow everything down and allow ourselves to deeply rest.
If you’ve never joined this class before, I’d love to welcome you as my guest. Your first class is completely free. Simply get in touch and I’ll send you the details. Every week follows a different theme inspired by the changing seasons, nature and the rhythms of life.
Throughout July I’m also offering a free class to anyone who hasn’t yet experienced one of my yoga classes, so if you know someone who might enjoy a little more calm, connection and kindness in their week, I’d be so grateful if you spread the word.
I’m also really excited to be introducing two special seasonal offerings that invite us to go a little deeper than our regular weekly classes.
Friday Sunset Sanctuary – Friday 10th July
I’m delighted to be collaborating with the wonderful Nikki Hand for a special Sunset Sanctuary.
We’ll begin with gentle yoga in the beautiful natural amphitheatre overlooking Thatcher Rock before melting into an hour of deeply restorative sound healing. Afterwards we’ll wander together with a cup of tea to watch the sunset over the sea.
It feels like such a beautiful way to finish the week, and we’d absolutely love you to join us.
Welcoming Lammas – Saturday 1st August
As we move towards August, we’ll be celebrating Lammas, the ancient harvest festival marking the beginning of the harvest season.
It is a time to pause and acknowledge the abundance in our lives, giving thanks for all that has grown—both around us and within us. It also invites us to reflect on what we are now ready to gather, share and gently release as the wheel begins to turn towards autumn.
On Saturday 1st August, from 5.30–7.30am (sunrise at 5.41am), we’ll gather on Oddicombe Beach before dawn to welcome the new day together.
We’ll greet the sunrise with gentle yoga, meditation, sound healing, fire, ritual, a nourishing breakfast and, for those who feel called, a refreshing swim in the sea.
There is something incredibly special about witnessing the world wake up. Before the busyness of the day begins, we have the chance to simply breathe, connect with nature, honour the changing season and celebrate in community.
These sunrise gatherings have become some of my favourite moments of the year, and I’d love you to experience the magic with us.
Alongside all of this, I’m continuing to offer deeply nourishing holistic massage treatments from my Balinese-inspired treatment room, where handmade oils, sound healing and deep rest are woven into every session.
More and more, I’m learning that rest isn’t something we have to earn.
It is something we deserve.
Sometimes the greatest act of self-love is simply allowing ourselves to pause.
I’ll leave you with these words…
The fruit is full upon the tree,
The bees are slow with golden sleep,
The sun hangs heavy in the sky,
And still, the soul begins to seek.
Halfway here, and halfway gone,
We stand in light and feel the weight,
Of joy, of grief, of all that lives,
The pulse of now, the pull of fate.
So let us gather, breathe, and be,
Let us dance, and sip, and sing,
Before the wheat is cut and turned,
Let’s celebrate the summer’s ring.
May July remind you that life isn’t only found in the big milestones.
It’s found in sunrise swims.
Fresh coffee in the garden.
Salt on your skin.
Campfires.
Long conversations.
Bare feet on warm earth.
Unexpected laughter.
The people who make you feel at home.
May you notice the beauty that has been here all along.
May you swim in cool waters, linger in golden evenings, dance barefoot, laugh often, savour slow mornings and allow yourself to be nourished by this generous season.
May you welcome the light while honouring the shadows that make you beautifully human.
I hope our paths cross somewhere this summer—on the beach, in the yoga studio, around a fire, or simply beneath a beautiful Devon sky.
Until then…
Take gentle care of yourself.
With all my love,
Nina 🤍
