Dear beautiful you,
And just like that… December is here again.
I went out for a big 5 mile full moon walk last night before writing this — the moon was so bright and luminous, it felt like she was gently illuminating everything that is ready to be released and everything that is quietly being born. There's something about coming to an end of the year, a contemplation, a feeling...mine has definitely been one of shedding and simplifying.
As this year comes gently to a close, I can really feel a collective sense of tiredness in the air. A deep, bone-level exhaustion for many of us. And yet, alongside that, the busyness of Christmas begins to gather pace — the lists, the preparation, the pressure to keep going when all that is truly being asked of us is to slow down.
I held a beautiful wintering well workshop in November where 11 of us came together to honour the slowing down of winter. It was a really beautiful day and I'm so grateful for these events where we are able to be authentic and true and hold each other in arms of support, it was truly special - thank you to those that came.
I am right at the very end of a huge chapter of clearing and releasing my home - yes it's still going!!!! . It has been massive on every level — emotional, physical, and soulful. And more than ever, I find myself craving simplicity. Quiet days. Clear space. Soft light. Fewer words. More breath. More study. I want to delve deeper into the internal world.
Some of these winter days have been so beautifully crisp and bright — those pale skies, that sharp cold air, the way nature seems to whisper rather than shout. I find myself returning to the land again and again. Nature truly is my teacher now more than ever. Showing me how to shed, how to rest, how to trust the slower rhythms.
As you know I follow my life with the Celtic Calender - following in our ancestors footsteps. The Winter Solstice is such a sacred turning point in the year - this year moving with the New Moon - which is very auspicious for new beginnings. It is the longest, darkest night — and from that darkness, the light is reborn. The earth pauses. The wheel turns. The returning light doesn’t come in a rush — it arrives slowly, quietly, day by day, almost unnoticeable at first. And yet, everything begins to grow again from this moment. The solstice reminds us that even in our darkest seasons, something within us is still alive, still growing, still remembering the way back to the light.
In the spirit of this powerful threshold, I would love to invite you to something very special.
On Monday 22nd December, from 6:00–8:30 PM, I am holding a beautiful Winter Solstice gathering at the Imperial Hotel, in the gorgeous Holden Room overlooking the bay. We will begin with 90 minutes of gentle, nourishing yoga and meditation to honour the turning of the wheel and to warmly welcome the returning light. I will also share a little about the meaning of the solstice and how we can work with this tender moment of deep rest and quiet rebirth.
After that, we will drift down to the spa for an hour where you can use my homemade body scrubs and oils to use as little rituals of shedding . And then, if you feel called, we can gather in the bar for a glass of Prosecco or some mulled wine — simply to be together as a community, to laugh, connect, and soften into the season. They have a beautiful ambience for Christmas.
It would be lovely to see you and you can book on my website.
And oh… I am so excited to announce my beautiful 2026 Day Retreat:
SEEDS OF 2026
A Day of Clarity, Intention & New Beginnings
Saturday 31st January | 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM
CoWorking Devon, Riverview, Buckfastleigh
I have found the most incredible new location — a stunning riverside space in Buckfastleigh, with a huge roaring fire and sweeping views over the River Dart. It truly feels like a sanctuary.
I’ve decided to make this a full day retreat because I want us to have the time to really land, to deeply nourish ourselves, and to gently close one chapter before opening the next. We will walk in nature, create a beautiful earth altar, and use the Year Focus planners to lovingly put 2025 to bed and consciously begin 2026 with deep clarity and intention.
I am also so excited to be welcoming the wonderful Hedgemoor Sisters, who will guide us in creating our own immune-boosting medicine to take home — a powerful and practical gift for the winter and the year ahead.
The day will include:
Wild teas and soulful connection
Nature connection and earth altar creation
Gentle yoga to soften the body and calm the mind
Deeply restorative sound bath
Year Focus journaling to reflect on 2025 and envision 2026
A nourishing two-course lunch
Immune-boosting medicine making with the Hedgemoor Sisters
Sitting by the Fire
Closing circle and planting the energetic seeds for the year ahead
All of this for just £66.
You can book via my website: www.nurturebynina.co.uk
Spaces will be limited and I would so love to share this day with you.
My regular classes will finish on December 15th, and I won’t be returning until January 13th. This year has been very big for me — in every way — and I am gifting myself a personal retreat. A time of deep rest, solitude, and quiet listening. As I grow older, I find myself longing for more peace, more stillness, more space. Life can feel very busy out there… perhaps it is the menopause, perhaps it is simply the season of life I am in now as I lean into the crone years - I crave ease and simplicity. Either way, I am learning to honour the call to slow.
Thank you so much for all the lessons of 2025 — and especially to those of you who keep showing up, not just in the summer months when it’s free, but all through the darker seasons too. I see you. I appreciate you more than you know.
The lessons I share in the winter are held in hotels with beautiful spas where you can access that for less than half price. There's something about giving ourselves some self love in a spa and then practising yoga. I fully recommend it each week there is a different theme, I share my vulnerabilities and things that helping me through life. I spend a lot of time studying and sharing what I learned with you, if you are finding it difficult to get to class due to finances says please do get in touch, I know it is difficult at present.
I want to say the biggest thank you to every single one of you who has walked through this year with me — whether on the mat, in the treatment room, at a workshop, through messages, or quiet support behind the scenes. You have been incredible. Truly. I never take you for granted. I would be so grateful if you leave a review for me as it really helps to gain new clients. I have copied the link in this Love letter and I would really appreciate if you could take the time to do this.
As this year gently folds itself away, I invite you to ask yourself:
How am I really feeling?
What am I grateful for?
What am I ready to release?
And what quiet light is beginning to grow within me?
If this season feels tender or heavy for you, please know you are not alone. Winter asks us to soften, not to strive. To rest, not to push. To listen, not to rush.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for your hearts.
With so much love and gratitude,
Nina x
